 James C. Melamed, J.D., founded The Oregon Mediation Center, Inc. in 1983. Jim also co-founded and continues to serve as CEO of Mediate.com (1996-present). Jim teaches mediation at The University of Oregon and Pepperdine Schools of Law. Jim is also former Executive Director of the Academy of Family Mediators and former Chair of the Oregon Dispute Resolution Commission. Jim was founding President and Executive Director of the Oregon Mediation Association and is recipient of the Oregon Mediation Association's 2003 Award of Excellence.
 Robert D. Benjamin, M.S.W., J.D., is a Fellow at The Straus Institute for Conflict Resolution and Adjunct Professor at the Pepperdine University School of Law and Southern Methodist University. Robert has been a practicing mediator since 1979. Robert practiced law and mediated for 25 years, including estate planning, probate and guardianship matters. Robert is former President of the Academy of Family Mediators and a Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. Robert presents negotiation, mediation and conflict management training courses nationally and internationally. He is the author of numerous articles and book contributions and a regular columnist at Mediate.com.
